Public Health & Illness Policy
We recognize that pandemic situations and sentiments vary by locale and are changing. We follow recommended health guidelines for each location.
Why do we have a public health policy? We have teaching team members and participants who are immuno-compromised, or who live with people who are immuno-compromised; and we are doing our best to create the greatest safety for the largest number of people. We see these protocols as a way to offer more safety to folks who otherwise would not be able to attend.
We ask you to be mindful in the week leading up to and during the training to limit exposure to contagious illnesses as an act of self-care and community care.
Before the course, please consider:
- Avoiding large indoor crowds, or masking while in them
- Taking a test before you leave home if you are traveling from out of town to attend the training
- Masking in the airport, airplane, public transit and in crowded indoor spaces
During the course, participants are always welcome to wear masks if they prefer.
We require:
- A COVID rapid test taken on-site the first day of class. Bring tests with you. Depending on the course facilitator, local situation and current outbreaks, we may require additional testing. This will be specified in your course logistics document. Please budget accordingly for this.
- Agreement to be in contact with your instructors if you develop symptoms of contagious illness (including COVID, RSV, Flu) during or shortly after the course. This information will be shared with other participants so they can make appropriate decisions for themselves.
- Should a participant come down with symptoms of contagious illness (COVID, RSV, Flu) during the course, we will ask them to step out of the class.
Cancellation/refund:
If a participant becomes ill with a contagious illness prior to or during the training, we do not offer a refund or transfer of tuition to a future course. They will be eligible to attend a future Like a Pro training at the returning student rate (50% off tuition) if there is a spot open in the course.
If you are crossing international borders to attend, please check if there are additional health and safety requirements.
